Bach Flower Remedies

picture

As well as the holistic practitioners of the Far East, many western doctors realise that the mind has a powerful influence over the body’s ability to heal itself. That a positive attitude of mind provides an essential role in assisting the body’s ability to recover from an illness and to maintain its own health. Here in the west, we are perhaps more likely to turn to the pharmaceutical companies to put things right, mentally and physically.
Back in the 1920s, an American homeopath, Dr Edward Bach, spent the time until his death in 1936, testing and perfecting herbal remedies which he drew entirely from what grows around us, the flowers of trees and plants in the wild. He came up with a system of 38 different flower therapies which had been tested and measured to help redress the balance of mind and body.
The word used consistently within his doctrine is ‘positive’. That was the springboard for his remedies which concentrate less on the disease and its symptoms and more on the person. Not surprising then that each Bach Flower Remedy deals with mind matters: “Know Your Own Mind”, “Face Your Fears” and “Live the Day”, to name but a few.
Sarah has studied the complete system of Dr Bach’s remedies and how they have been determined by him into seven different emotional categories. Used in conjunction with her other healing processes, she is ably qualified as a Bach Flower practitioner to enhance both the mental and physical wellbeing of her clients.
